Carolyn Kocurek is the Founder of Academic Answers and a lead educational consultant. Over the past two decades, she has spent her professional life in the fields of educational consulting and behavioral healthcare for struggling teenagers.

Chris Kocurek, M.Ed. is the Executive Director and a lead educational consultant of Academic Answers. He has over 20 years of experience in the education and behavioral health fields. His balance of formal education and employment experiences has made him a valued and unique asset to the profession of educational consulting.
As an Educational Consultant, Mr. Kocurek has assisted hundreds of students and families identify and select the best schools and programs for success. He is effective in coordinating the efforts of admission directors, educators, psychologists, and other professionals. To keep pace with current educational trends, he continually travels across the United States to evaluate boarding schools, emotional growth programs, programs for young adults and treatment programs.
Mr. Kocurek works collaboratively with parents by spearheading Academic Success Plans® for their children. He facilitates on-going success through the implementation of Parent Workshops with practical applications that simplify parenting strategies. Mr. Kocurek also uses his extensive knowledge of the special education process to function as an advocate for students in public school settings. His experience is welcomed by schools as a vital member of a child's education team.
Mr. Kocurek holds a Master's degree in Education, specializing in Counseling and Guidance and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. He is an active member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and specializes in the educational consulting areas of Special Needs, Schools and Learning Disabilities. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of IECA. He is also a Licensed Child Care Administrator in the state of Texas.
Prior to his career with Academic Answers, Mr. Kocurek was the Chief Executive Officer of a subsidiary of the Brown Schools, Inc. In this role, he developed and operated a continuum of residential schools and treatment programs for adolescents and young adults. The program models included residential treatment centers, therapeutic boarding schools, young adult transition programs, home-based services, group homes and therapeutic wilderness programs. As the President and CEO of Therapeutic Expeditions, Inc., Mr. Kocurek operated an adventure-based treatment program for teenagers in Oregon. He has also worked in the public schools by providing administrative oversight to special education programs.
In addition to his role as an educational consultant, Mr. Kocurek provides consultation and training to the faculty of schools and programs throughout the United States. His extensive experience in program development and operations is a valuable resource to the development of effective schools and programs.
