Carolyn Kocurek
Founder/Educational Consultant

Carolyn Kocurek is the Founder of Academic Answers and a lead educational consultant. Over the past two decades, she has spent her professional life in the fields of educational consulting and behavioral healthcare for struggling teenagers. Her ability to understand the needs of children and to intuitively connect with parents in a supportive but directive manner has made her a model practitioner in the consulting field.
Carolyn began her professional career in Los Angeles as Director of Admissions for Aspen Achievement Academy. She spearheaded the transition of admissions for primitive wilderness programs, which became legitimate clinical intervention for teenagers with emotional and behavioral concerns. During her tenure with the fledgling Aspen program, she discovered her love for program development and conceptualization. She was then recruited as a start-up partner with RedCliff Ascent in St. George, Utah. During this experience she cultivated her relationships with professionals across the country and developed expertise in managing third-party reimbursement for schools and programs.
Upon her return to Texas, she accepted a position with the Brown Schools, Inc. as a member of its national marketing team. She also played an instrumental role in program development for the On Track Wilderness Program and Hill Country Place, a therapeutic boarding school. She was integral in the creation of transitional programs for young adults, programs for individuals with traumatic brain injury, and in-home therapeutic services. During this time she continued to expand her knowledge of traditional educational settings including day and boarding schools.
Her collective experiences in admissions, program development, marketing, client relations, not to mention raising her own children, helped Carolyn understand that her true passion is helping families.
In 1998, Carolyn founded Academic Answers by conceptualizing a full service firm with varied specialties in helping students and their families succeed. She currently assists families in finding boarding schools, day schools and therapeutic programs and is especially effective in helping families in crisis. As a mother and a professional, she personally understands the challenges that parents face in our changing society.
